vhs conversion service

What does the service do exactly?

Our VHS to DVD converter can record your VHS tape onto a computer via a VCR player and then burn the recorded file onto a USB drive. It can also be saved digitally as an MPEG file. The entirety of the VHS tape must be played as it records, so process times vary.

We are also able to convert Hi-8 camcorder tapes. Note - there are other ‘mini VHS’ format tapes out there, but we only have the tools to convert Hi-8 tapes.

Use our service to convert all those old home movies and family videos to a usable format. Once on the USB drive, you can transfer the data to a computer and share.

How to I utilize this service?

This service is available to Ramsey library card holders only. You may drop off one (1) VHS tape at a time and a staff member will convert it for you. Please allow up to two (2) weeks for your VHS  tape to be converted. Sign our agreement form and provide the requested contact information. You will need to present your Ramsey Library Card when dropping off and picking up VHS/USB drive.
